This weekend was absolutely INCREDIBLE! It stated out on Thursday, my last day of 24, with a trip to Chozu, a Japanese inspired bath garden and spa, where my friends and I soaked and relaxed in the hot salt water pools and enjoyed the steam room. Friday evening involved a specially made diary free cake (if you didn't already know, I have a highly annoying allergy to milk), opening presents, and a little tequila before heading downtown where I danced the night away. Saturday was full of surprises, I had no idea what was planned for me but it turned out to be perfect! The day started out with breakfast at one of my favorite places in Ashland, Brickroom, and let me tell you, that was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had (the food and the company). After a walk through the Artisans Market and a short stop for shopping at Papaya (another one of my favorite places in Ashland), I was whisked away to the Waterstone Spa where my best friend and I and got side by side massages! Next was onto Tashi Choling, home to this gorgeous Buddhist temple on the side of Mount Ashland. The drive was peaceful and the view was breathtaking. It was so calming to sit and listen to the sounds of the breeze, the birds, and the prayer flags gently dancing in the wind. After our peaceful time at the temple, we headed into town and all bought new outfits for the evening (they obviously understand my shopping addiction quite well). We then headed to a warehouse party where we watched a band perform, then ate a ton of fries at the Black Sheep in downtown Ashland. This weekend was so incredible; I wish I could relive it again and again.
I chose the photo of my friends, Sam and Catherine walking arm in arm as my photo this week because of how much thought and effort they put into my birthday weekend. I honestly was blown away at how well they know me, and how much love they have shown me. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends, who remind me of my worth when I need it the most.
