Week 13 - Jennifer Lynn St. Onge Photography

June 25th, 2017

This week has been quite stressful, but also quite a relief. It was my last week at my current job, and I honestly feel as though a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It had become such a negative and toxic environment, and it feels so good to walk away from that situation.

It feels even better that I am thrilled for my next move! While I haven't told many people, I have quietly been going to school for the last few months, taking a course on real estate. I have been working in sales for the last two years, so real estate didn't seem like a huge stretch, and I figured worst case scenario I would learn more about the process and that would help me when I'm ready to buy a home. Just two weeks into the course, a friend recommended I call a local agent as he was looking to hire. I met him and we hit it off. I've never been so sure that I wanted to join a team as I was that day, and I've been patiently plugging away while I wait to complete my course and take the licensing exams. Now that I have completed my classes and left my job, I'll be spending all of next week studying in hopes of passing the exams on the first try (which not everyone does), so keep your fingers crossed for me!

As for my photo... I took it right after a giant storm we had this weekend. I saw lightning strike in the distance, drove past the fire it started, and then drove through a torrential downpour that reduced my speed from 55mph to 25mph and I still could barely see. Trees fell, signs were blown over, it was an overall mess. With that said, it was beautiful to watch. My boyfriend and I drove to the top of a hill near my apartment and I took some photos as the sun was setting.
